A platform I founded that turns the texts of Sanatana Dharma into practical, conversational guidance. It runs as a Next.js web app and an Expo mobile client on a FastAPI and Postgres backend. Currently in private beta.
One source of truth for both clients
The mobile app imports shared config (domains, rishis and onboarding) from the web app through Metro watchFolders. These files are plain data with no React or Next dependency. A life domain added on web shows up on mobile without anyone remembering to copy it.
Streaming on a device
React Native's global fetch is an XMLHttpRequest polyfill, and its Response has no readable body, so reading a streamed answer throws. The native client uses expo/fetch instead, which does expose the stream.
Failing loudly on missing keys
MFA secrets are encrypted at rest, and the key that decrypts them has to stay stable. In production the backend refuses to boot without MFA_ENCRYPTION_KEY. A missing key stops the deploy instead of locking every user out of MFA after the next restart.
